Burj Al-Luqluq Social Center Society organized a special open day for the basketball team on chairs and their parents at the basketball court in Umm Tuba village

The activities of the open day began with sports training, as usual, with the coach, Mr. Ahmed Jaber, followed by a training workshop with the coach, Amani Al-Bashiti.

After that, the group of children took part in enthusiastic games and entertainment competitions with trainer Alaa Jamjoom, followed by a ceramic coloring workshop with the participation of Burj Al-Luqluq Ceramics Training Center and a group of graduate students from the laboratory, where the children performed free drawing on ceramics with the help of artist Raneem Al-Razem.

The activities of the open day were concluded in a musical workshop accompanied by the artist Abdul Salam Al-Sabah, followed by the distribution of gifts and prizes to all members of the team. The day was described as successful, in cooperation with all the trainers and artists, and in the presence of the project coordinator, Alaa Ghorab, the artist Raneem Al-Razem and the staff of the ceramics workshop in Burj Al-Luqluq, in addition to To paramedic Baraa Jaber.

This event comes within the educational sports project “Learn and Play”, which is implemented by Burj Al-Luqluq with the Fund of UNICEF.

“Learn And Play” project continues in its new phase by providing main services and activities such as football and basketball training, chair basketball training for children of determination, in addition to supporting academic education classes in English and Arabic language and mathematics.

The success of these activities in partnership and close cooperation with the partner clubs in this project, which targets the child in Jerusalem in every sense of the word.

“Learn And Play” project is funded by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and in partnership with ten Jerusalemite base clubs divided over the city of Jerusalem.

3 days course for football and basketball coaches within the project at Burj Al-Luqluq headquarters, and another course in technological empowerment for the teachers of  “Learn and Play” project, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and means of downloading files and dealing with the electronic cloud and benefiting from it to facilitate the project’s progress

The project also seeks to start implementing intensive educational sessions in support of more than 35 children of determination, equivalent to 6 hours of academic support for each child.

Last Thursday, Burj Al-Luqluq implemented its sixth recreational open day for the Play and Learn project, in which it targeted nearly 500 boys and girls from the main areas of Jerusalem “the Old City, Jabel Mukaber, Shuafat Camp, Silwan, and Al-Issawiya”.

The open day included the participation of 10 different Jerusalem clubs, “Youth Social Center, Al-Issawiya Club, Silwan Club, Al-Ansar Club, Al-Bustan Association – Silwan, Al-Mukaber Club and School, Al-Asimah Club, Dallasal Al-Quds Club, Abnaa Al-Quds Club, and Burj Al-Luqluq Association).

The open day included several activities, the largest of which were athletes, a football league, and another basketball for girls, in addition to art workshops and painting murals, and finally a ceramics workshop and another workshop to show a virtual reality movie in the computer lab in the association.

The Burj Al-Luqluq basketball team of people of determination also took part in the chairs, and the day ended with honoring the teams and clubs, taking part in the league, and distributing cups and medals.

This project aims to help children in the aforementioned areas and improve their living conditions, by providing several sports, educational and legal training, especially in the absence of centers and associations in these areas to embrace them and provide them with these needs.
